From the very start...

...derives its title from the lyrics of the wonderfully romantic track Never Let Me Go, just one of the beautiful songs on this album, all chosen because they are so special to me.

Jo Fooks (sax) , Jim Treweek (piano), Pete Ringrose (bass) and Buster Birch (drums), joined me in the recording studio for a fantastic day and I am truly grateful to them for their energy, enthusiasm and musicianship.

I am also indebted to all the other inspirational musicians I’ve ever worked with, to those jazz promoters who work tirelessly to keep music live, and, of course, the many enthusiasts and aficionados who turn up at my gigs!

When I listen to a singer I want to feel the passion contained within the song; I need to know the singer means it. I mean this CD from the heart, and hope you will enjoy listening to it,
from the very start ...

...
